Target Information

GOLPH1, also known as GCP60, is a Golgi protein that interacts with the integral membrane protein giantin and contributes to the maintenance of Golgi structure. It also interacts with Golgi proteins such as Golgin-160, which can be cleaved by caspases-2, -3, and -7, leading to nuclear localization of Golgin-160. The interaction between GOLPH1 and Golgin-160 fragments is regulated by the oxidation state of Cys-463, suggesting a coordinated mechanism for nuclear localization. Additionally, GOLPH1 interacts with Numb, a cytosolic signaling protein involved in asymmetric cell division, indicating that Golgi dynamics may regulate Numb signaling and link cell fate with cell cycle progression.
