Target Information
The Claudin 20 gene encodes a member of the claudin family. Claudins are integral membrane proteins and components of tight junction strands. These tight junctions act as physical barriers preventing solutes and water from freely passing through the paracellular space between epithelial or endothelial cells, and play critical roles in maintaining cell polarity and signal transduction.
