Target Information
DIABLO (Smac)은 미토콘드리아 단백질로, 세포 사멸(apoptosis)을 활성화하는 역할을 합니다. 이는 IAP(apoptosis inhibitory proteins) 계열의 억제 단백질을 중화함으로써 이루어질 수 있습니다. Smac은 세포 사멸 신호에 따라 미토콘드리아에서 세포질로 이동하며, 미토콘드리아 매개 세포 사멸은 동물의 발달 및 조직 항상성 유지에 중요합니다. 이러한 과정의 이상은 다양한 악성 질환으로 이어질 수 있습니다. 또한 Smac/DIABLO는 암세포의 면역 및 약물 유도 세포 사멸 감작에 중요한 역할을 하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
