DUSP4는 dual specificity protein phosphatase 아형의 구성원으로, phosphoserine/threonine과 phosphotyrosine 잔기를 탈인산화하여 표적 kinase를 불활성화합니다. MAPK/ERK, SAPK/JNK, p38 등 세포 증식 및 분화에 관련된 MAP kinase 계열을 음성 조절하며, 조직 특이적 발현 및 핵 내 위치를 가집니다. DUSP4는 ERK1, ERK2, JNK를 불활성화하며 다양한 조직에서 발현됩니다.
