• For blocking purposes, use 5% (v/v) solution (1:20 dilution from rehydrated volume).
• Rehydration according to instruction yields 100% serum.
• Restore with 2.0 mL distilled water.
• Centrifuge if not clear after standing 1–2 hours at room temperature.
• Store undiluted liquid at 4°C for several weeks.
• After dilution, use within one day.
• For long-term storage, freeze rehydrated undiluted product in small aliquots at -20°C.

Target Information

Normal sera are non-immune serum samples derived from various species (human, goat, mouse, rabbit, etc.) containing the usual complement of serum proteins, including immunoglobulin classes found in healthy individuals.
They provide endogenous proteins to block nonspecific binding sites on fixed samples or assay substrates.
When used as an antibody diluent, normal serum maintains a native environment for antibody function without introducing foreign proteins.
Commonly used for blocking or saturating nonspecific interactions in immunodetection methods such as IHC.
Also useful as controls for testing antibody purification methods.
