CIRBP (Cold-Inducible RNA-Binding Protein)는 유전자 독성 스트레스 반응에서 보호적 역할을 하는 단백질로, 세포 생존 관련 유전자의 전사체를 안정화합니다. 번역 활성화 인자로 작용하며, 저온에 의한 세포 증식 억제에 필수적인 역할을 합니다. 또한 스트레스 반응 전사체의 3'-UTR 영역(RPA2, TXN)에 특이적으로 결합하며, 과발현 시 스트레스 과립(stress granules, SGs)의 형성을 촉진하는 번역 억제 인자로 작용합니다.
