Target Information
Myosin regulatory light polypeptide 9 is a highly conserved, ubiquitously expressed protein encoded by the MYL9 gene in humans.
Myosin, a structural component of muscle, consists of two heavy chains and four light chains, including both nonphosphorylatable and phosphorylatable subunits.
MYL9 may regulate muscle contraction by modulating the ATPase activity of myosin heads.
MYL9 and MYL12 are functional ligands for CD69; blockade of CD69–Myl9/12 interaction ameliorates allergic airway inflammation in mouse models of asthma.
