Target Information
E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that transfers ubiquitin from E2 conjugating enzymes (UBE2L3, UBE2L6) to target substrates such as LCMT2, promoting their degradation. Induces apoptosis via a p53/TP53-dependent but caspase-independent mechanism. Overexpression decreases ubiquitin-dependent stability of BAX, leading to reduced cell death, but it is not inherently anti-apoptotic.
