Target Information
ZDHHC7 is a protein coding gene acting as a palmitoyltransferase with broad substrate specificity.
It palmitoylates JAM3, SNAP25, and DLG4/PSD95, as well as sex steroid hormone receptors including ESR1, PGR, and AR.
This modification regulates their plasma membrane localization and rapid intracellular signaling upon hormone binding.
ZDHHC7 may also play a role in follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) activation of testicular Sertoli cells.
