이 단백질은 헬리케이스 및 ATPase 활성을 가지며, 크로마틴 구조를 변형하여 특정 유전자의 전사를 조절하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
SMARCA2는 ATP 의존적 크로마틴 리모델링 복합체 SNF/SWI의 구성 요소로, 크로마틴에 의해 억제된 유전자의 전사 활성화에 필요합니다.
이 유전자는 두 가지 전사 변이체를 가지며, 삼염기 반복(CAG) 길이 다형성을 포함합니다.
