Target Information
Neurofilaments are composed of three intermediate filament proteins: NEFL, NEFM, and NEFH, which are crucial for maintaining neuronal caliber.
NEFH plays a significant role in mature axons that is not shared by the smaller NF proteins.
These filaments may also interact with neuronal intermediate filament proteins PRPH and INA to form filamentous networks within neurons.
