The Human LOX-1 Simplex ProcartaPlex Kit measures LOX-1 protein and is designed to be combinable with other Simplex kits, allowing the creation of custom multiplex panels utilizing Luminex xMAP technology for protein detection and quantitation.
When combining multiple Simplex kits (i.e., when not using a pre-configured Multiplex Panel), only one buffer kit (sold separately) is required per assay plate, regardless of plex size.

About ProcartaPlex Assays for the Luminex Platform

ProcartaPlex immunoassays are based on the sandwich ELISA principle, using two highly specific antibodies that bind to different epitopes of a single protein. This enables simultaneous quantitation of multiple targets using a Luminex instrument.
ProcartaPlex multiplex assays require as little as 25 μL of plasma or serum, or 50 μL of cell culture supernatant, and results can be obtained in approximately four hours.

Technology Overview

ProcartaPlex assays utilize Luminex xMAP (multianalyte profiling) technology for simultaneous detection and quantitation of up to 80 protein targets in a single sample.
The Luminex beads are internally dyed with specific proportions of red and infrared fluorophores, creating unique spectral signatures identifiable by Luminex detection systems (e.g., Luminex 200, FLEXMAP 3D, and MAGPIX).

Similar to a sandwich ELISA, each bead is conjugated with antibodies specific to a target protein. Bound proteins are detected using biotinylated antibodies and streptavidin–R-phycoerythrin (RPE). The fluorescence intensity corresponds to the protein concentration.

Unlike traditional ELISA, the capture antibody in a ProcartaPlex assay is conjugated to a bead rather than adsorbed to a microplate well, allowing reagents to remain free-floating in solution.
Luminex instruments use dual lasers—one to identify bead signatures and another to measure RPE fluorescence—providing quantitative results for each analyte.

ProcartaPlex multiplex panels are available across six species: human, mouse, rat, nonhuman primate, porcine, and canine.
