Target Information
Rad1 is a component of a heterotrimeric PCNA-like complex that includes Rad9 and Hus1 proteins. This 9-1-1 checkpoint complex plays a major role in DNA repair by associating with Rad17 and components of the PCNA-loading replication factor C. Mutants can partially restore radiation resistance and G2-checkpoint activity, and Rad1 has been shown to possess exonuclease activity.
