EphA1은 단백질 티로신 키나제 패밀리 중 ephrin receptor 서브패밀리에 속합니다. EPH 및 관련 수용체는 특히 신경계에서 발달 과정의 매개에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. EPH 서브패밀리의 수용체는 일반적으로 단일 키나제 도메인과 Cys-rich 도메인 및 2개의 fibronectin type III 반복을 포함하는 세포외 영역을 가집니다. Ephrin 수용체는 세포외 도메인 서열의 유사성과 ephrin-A 및 ephrin-B 리간드에 대한 결합 친화도에 따라 두 그룹으로 나뉩니다.
