Target Information
Protein kinase C (PKC) is a family of serine- and threonine-specific protein kinases activated by calcium and diacylglycerol. PKC family members phosphorylate diverse protein targets and are involved in various cellular signaling pathways. They also act as receptors for phorbol esters, which are tumor-promoting agents. Each PKC isoform exhibits distinct expression profiles and cellular roles.
