Target Information
The LILRB1 gene belongs to the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family located at chromosome region 19q13.4. The encoded protein is a subfamily B class receptor containing extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane region, and cytoplasmic ITIM motifs. It is expressed on immune cells and binds to MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells, transmitting inhibitory signals that regulate immune activation. This receptor helps control inflammatory responses and cytotoxicity to maintain immune balance and prevent autoreactivity. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms exist.
