This antibody detects endogenous levels of total CELSR2 protein.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the flamingo subfamily, part of the cadherin superfamily. Members of this subfamily are nonclassic-type cadherins that do not interact with catenins. Flamingo cadherins are located at the plasma membrane and contain nine cadherin domains, seven EGF-like repeats, and two laminin A G-type repeats in their ectodomain, along with seven transmembrane domains unique to this subfamily. These proteins are thought to act as receptors in contact-mediated communication, with cadherin domains serving as homophilic binding regions and EGF-like domains involved in cell adhesion and receptor-ligand interactions. The specific function of CELSR2 has not been fully determined.
