Target Information
TYW2 (also known as TRM12) is an enzyme involved in the wybutosine-tRNA (Phe) biosynthesis pathway. Wybutosine (yW) is a hypermodified guanosine located at the 3′ position adjacent to the anticodon of phenylalanine tRNA, stabilizing codon-anticodon interactions during ribosomal decoding.
TYW2 participates in a multistep enzymatic reaction that ensures accurate translation by stabilizing codon-anticodon base pairing.
Amplification of TYW2 has been observed in multiple breast cancer cell lines, and overexpression (more than 2-fold) was detected in 26 out of 30 breast tumor samples, suggesting a potential role in breast cancer development.
