MAP2K3 (MEK3)는 세포 신호 전달 경로에서 작용하는 dual-specificity protein kinase로, glucose transporter 발현에 필요합니다. 이 효소는 MAPK14/p38-MAPK를 인산화하여 활성화하며, 인슐린에 의해 활성화될 수 있습니다. RAS 온코진의 발현은 이 효소의 활성형 축적을 유도하여 MAPK14의 지속적 활성화와 세포의 종양성 변환을 초래합니다. 또한, 이 효소의 억제는 Yersinia pseudotuberculosis 병인에 관여하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다. 다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되어 있으며, 각각 다른 isoform을 생성합니다.
