Target Information
TAL-1 is a basic helix-loop-helix transcription factor that regulates differentiation and survival during hemopoiesis. It is implicated in the genesis of hemopoietic malignancies and plays an important role in hemopoietic differentiation. TAL-1 acts as a positive regulator of erythroid differentiation. Mutations are associated with T-cell leukemia and melanoma. TAL-1 is known to bind to the LIM domain-containing protein Rhombotin-2.
