Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The androgen receptor (AR) is a member of the steroid-hormone receptor superfamily of nuclear receptors. It has three major functional domains: the N-terminal domain, DNA-binding domain, and androgen-binding domain.
AR acts as a ligand-activated transcription factor that binds testosterone (T) and dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Upon ligand binding, AR dissociates from accessory proteins, translocates to the nucleus, dimerizes, and activates transcription of androgen-responsive genes.

The AR signaling pathway is essential for the development and function of male reproductive organs such as the prostate and epididymis, and also plays roles in nonreproductive tissues including muscle, hair follicles, and brain.
Abnormalities in AR signaling are associated with diseases such as prostate cancer, Kennedy’s disease, male infertility, and complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS).
