Target Information
BRCA1 (breast and ovarian cancer susceptibility protein 1)은 핵 인산화 단백질로, 유전체 안정성을 유지하는 데 중요한 역할을 합니다. BRCA1은 다른 종양 억제 인자, DNA 손상 감지 인자 및 신호 전달 인자들과 함께 BASC(BRCA1 associated genome surveillance complex)라는 다중 서브유닛 단백질 복합체를 형성합니다. 또한 RNA polymerase II 및 histone deacetylase complex와 상호작용하여 전사, 이중가닥 DNA 손상 복구 및 재조합에 관여합니다. BRCA1 유전자 변이는 유전성 유방암의 약 40%와 유전성 유방 및 난소암의 80% 이상을 유발합니다. 이 유전자는 다양한 대체 스플라이싱 변이를 가지며, 일부는 질병 관련 돌연변이로 보고되었습니다. 관련된 유사유전자(pseudogene)는 염색체 17에서도 발견됩니다.
