Target Information
This gene encodes a WD repeat protein that interacts with Cockayne syndrome type B (CSB) protein and p44, a subunit of the RNA polymerase II transcription factor IIH.
Mutations in ERCC8 are associated with Cockayne syndrome (CS), a hereditary disorder characterized by hypersensitivity to ultraviolet radiation and defective repair of transcriptionally active genes.
