Target Information
FBXL2 encodes a member of the F-box protein family, characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif known as the F-box. These proteins form one of the four subunits of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), which function in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination. F-box proteins are classified into three groups: Fbws (WD-40 domains), Fbls (leucine-rich repeats), and Fbxs (various interaction modules or no recognizable motifs). FBXL2 belongs to the Fbls class, containing an F-box and 12 tandem leucine-rich repeats. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
