Target Information
CD321 (F11R, JAM-1, JAM-A) is a cell-surface adhesion molecule belonging to the Ig superfamily. It is a 32–41 kDa glycoprotein with two extracellular Ig-like domains, a transmembrane region, and a short cytosolic tail. CD321 forms homodimers and interacts with other membrane proteins such as integrins.
Expression and Function:
- Found on leukocytes, platelets, erythrocytes, stem cells, epithelial and endothelial cells
- Mediates cell-cell contact and maintains epithelial/endothelial barriers
- Associated with tight junction components (ZO-1, occludin)
- Involved in hematopoiesis, angiogenesis, and tumor proliferation, invasion, and metastasis
