Target Information
POU4F3 encodes a member of the POU-domain family of transcription factors. These proteins play important roles in controlling cell identity in several biological systems. POU4F3 is expressed in the retina and may be involved in determining or maintaining the identities of a subset of visual system neurons. Mutations in this gene cause non-syndromic sensorineural deafness autosomal dominant type 15.
