Target Information
Kallikreins are a subgroup of serine proteases with diverse physiological functions. Many kallikreins are implicated in carcinogenesis and may serve as biomarkers for cancer and other diseases. The KLK10 gene, located on chromosome 19, encodes a secreted protein that may play a role in tumor suppression, particularly in breast and prostate cancers. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.
