EDG6 (S1P4)는 lysophospholipid를 리간드로 하는 G-단백질 결합 수용체(GPCR) 계열에 속합니다. 이 수용체의 리간드는 sphingosine-1-phosphate이며, EDG 수용체 계열은 세포 증식, 분화, 생존 및 세포골격 반응(수축, 분비, 부착, 화학주성 등)에 관여합니다.
EDG6 (S1P4)는 림프조직, 조혈조직 및 폐에서 발현되며, 현재 sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor-4 (S1P4)로 명명됩니다.
