Target Information
P-cadherin (Cadherin-3)은 Type 1 cadherin 단백질로, cadherin superfamily에 속하는 단일 막관통 단백질입니다.
이 단백질은 5개의 세포외 cadherin 반복부위를 가지며, p120-catenin 및 β-catenin과 결합하는 세포내 도메인을 포함합니다.
Cadherin은 칼슘 의존적 세포 간 접착 당단백질로, 발생, 상처 치유, 세포 신호전달, 성장, 분화 등의 다양한 생물학적 과정에 관여합니다.
P-cadherin은 인간 태아 조직 및 성인 조직(표피 기저층, 유방, 전립선, 난소, 자궁경부, 모낭, 각막 내피 등)에 발현되며, 줄기세포(배아 줄기세포, 유방 및 모낭 줄기세포)에서도 발현이 보고되었습니다.
P-cadherin의 과발현은 유방, 전립선, 난소, 결장, 위암 등에서 불량한 예후와 관련이 있습니다.
CDH3 유전자의 돌연변이는 선천성 저모증과 소아 황반이영양증과 관련이 있습니다.
