Target Information
The product of this gene is a microtubule-associated protein predominantly expressed in epithelial cells. Microtubule-associated proteins are involved in microtubule dynamics, essential for cell polarization and differentiation. This protein stabilizes microtubules and may modulate their functions. Studies in mouse homologs suggest a critical role in spermatogenesis. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encode different isoforms for this gene.
