Target Information

SH2B3 encodes a member of the SH2B adaptor family of proteins, which participate in diverse signaling pathways mediated by growth factor and cytokine receptors. This protein acts as a key negative regulator of cytokine signaling and plays an essential role in hematopoiesis. Mutations in SH2B3 are associated with susceptibility to celiac disease type 13 and insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus.
