mRNA 결합 단백질로 번역 신장(translation elongation)에 관여하며, mRNA turnover 조절, decapping 후 단계에서 작용할 가능성이 있음. Actin dynamics, 세포 주기 진행, mRNA decay, 스트레스 반응 및 세포벽 무결성 유지에 관여. 세포자멸사(apoptosis) 조절자로 기능하며, polyamine의 신경 돌기 성장 및 생존에 대한 효과를 매개함. 뇌 발달과 기능, 골격근 줄기세포 분화에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있음.
