This gene encodes a member of the NEDD4-like protein family, known to possess ubiquitin-protein ligase activity.
The encoded protein contains four tandem WW domains, which are motifs of 35–40 amino acids characterized by four conserved aromatic residues.
These domains mediate specific protein–protein interactions.
Three alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
