Target Information
Putative Polycomb group (PcG) protein. PcG proteins form multiprotein complexes required to maintain the transcriptionally repressive state of homeotic genes during development. They maintain, rather than initiate, repression and likely act via histone methylation, resulting in heritable chromatin changes. ASXL2 is involved in transcriptional regulation mediated by ligand-bound nuclear hormone receptors, such as PPARG, acting as a coactivator to enhance adipocyte differentiation-inducing activity through differential recruitment of acetylated and methylated histone H3.
