The M303 anti-TNF Alpha antibody (clone 2TNF-H34A) has successfully been paired as the coating antibody in a sandwich ELISA with detection antibody M302B (biotinylated conjugate of clone 2TNF-H33).
This product has been tested for endotoxins by limulus amoebocyte lysate (LAL) assay and contains an endotoxin concentration of ≤10 EU/mg.
Target Information
TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to receptors TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. TNF alpha regulates immune cell activity, proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation.
It exists as multimers (dimers, trimers, pentamers) but shows a single 17 kDa band in SDS-PAGE under non-reducing conditions. Knockout studies suggest TNF alpha has neuroprotective functions and induces tumor necrosis in tumor-bearing mice. It also plays roles in immune responses to bacterial, viral, parasitic, and fungal infections, and in tumor cell cytolysis, synergistic with interferon-gamma.
TNF alpha has been implicated in autoimmune diseases, insulin resistance, and cancer.
