Arevirumab-3 (Arevirumab)는 Lassa 바이러스 감염의 진행된 단계 치료 연구를 위해 개발된 광범위 중화 인간 단클론 항체입니다.
Lassa virus (LASV)는 Arenaviridae과 Mammarenavirus속에 속하는 외피를 가진 분절 RNA 바이러스로, Old World mammarenavirus 그룹에 포함됩니다.
이 그룹에는 lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus, Mopeia virus, Lujo virus 등이 포함됩니다.
LASV는 주로 서아프리카와 중앙아프리카 지역에서 순환하며, 감염된 설치류의 소변이나 배설물과의 접촉을 통해 인수공통 감염을 일으킵니다.
Lassa fever는 높은 치명률을 보이는 중증 바이러스성 출혈열(VHF)로, 입원 환자의 사망률은 약 20% 이상으로 보고됩니다.
감염자의 약 80%는 경증 또는 무증상이며, 나머지 20%는 중증으로 진행되어 입원이 필요합니다.
