Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
ASL encodes a member of the lyase 1 family. The protein forms a cytosolic homotetramer and catalyzes the reversible hydrolytic cleavage of argininosuccinate into arginine and fumarate, a key step in ammonia detoxification via the urea cycle.
Mutations cause argininosuccinic aciduria (argininosuccinic acid lyase deficiency). A pseudogene is located on chromosome 22, and alternatively spliced transcript variants exist.
