Target Information
The coiled-coil domain is a common protein motif often involved in protein oligomerization and is found in proteins such as transcription factors and intermediate filaments.
CCDC134 is a secretory protein known to inhibit the transcriptional activity of the Elk1 protein. Overexpression of CCDC134 inhibits phosphorylation of Erk and JNK/SAPK but not p38 MAPK, while siRNA against CCDC134 activates Elk1 transcriptional activity and phosphorylation of Erk and JNK/SAPK.
These findings suggest that CCDC134 may play an inhibitory role in MAPK-mediated Elk1 transcription. CCDC134 is widely expressed in normal adult tissues, tumors, and cell lines.
