Target Information
Caspase-2 유전자는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease(caspase) 계열에 속하는 단백질을 암호화합니다. Caspase의 연속적 활성화는 세포 사멸(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 중심적인 역할을 수행합니다. Caspase는 비활성 전구 효소 형태로 존재하며, 보존된 아스파르트산 잔기에서 절단되어 큰 소단위와 작은 소단위로 나뉘고, 이들이 이합체를 형성하여 활성 효소가 됩니다. 이 단백질의 절단은 다양한 세포 사멸 자극에 의해 유도됩니다. 대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 여러 전사 변형체가 생성되어 서로 다른 아이소폼을 암호화합니다.
