Target Information
TDE1, also known as tumor differentially expressed protein 1 or serine incorporator 3, is a multi-pass membrane protein located on the membranes of the Golgi apparatus within cells. It is highly expressed in neuronal populations and also found in thymus, kidney, liver, and testis. Expression levels of TDE1 in tumors can reach up to tenfold higher than in normal tissues, suggesting its involvement in cellular transformation and oncogenesis. TDE1 is believed to protect cells from serum starvation and etoposide-induced apoptosis, although the precise mechanism remains unclear and may involve aberrant methylation of TDE1 complexes.
