Target Information
BRCA1-associated protein-1 (BAP1)은 BRCA1의 RING finger domain과 상호작용하며, 유비퀴틴 C-말단 가수분해효소(UCHs)와 상동성을 갖는 N-말단 240개의 아미노산을 포함합니다. BAP1은 BRCA1과 함께 세포핵 내에서 공존하며, BRCA1 매개 유방암 세포 성장 억제를 강화합니다.
Northern blot 분석에 따르면 BAP1은 대부분의 인체 조직에서 4-kb mRNA로 발현되며, 고환에서는 4.8-kb 전사체가 특이적으로 발현됩니다.
BAP1 유전자는 3p21.3 영역에 위치하며, 이 영역은 유방암 및 폐암에서 종종 결실이 발생하는 부위로 알려져 있습니다. BAP1은 BRCA1 성장 조절 경로에서 종양 억제 유전자로 기능할 가능성이 제시되었습니다.
