The antibody detects endogenous levels of total CLPS protein.
Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a cofactor required by pancreatic lipase for efficient dietary lipid hydrolysis. It binds to the C-terminal, non-catalytic domain of lipase, stabilizing the active conformation and increasing the hydrophobic binding site. This cofactor enables lipase to anchor noncovalently to lipid micelles, counteracting the destabilizing influence of bile salts. Expression is limited to pancreatic acinar cells, regulated by tissue-specific elements. Three transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
