Target Information
CENP-T is a component of the CENPA-NAC (nucleosome-associated) complex, which plays a central role in kinetochore protein assembly, mitotic progression, and chromosome segregation. The CENPA-NAC complex recruits the CENPA-CAD complex and may facilitate the incorporation of newly synthesized CENPA into centromeres.
CENP-T is part of the heterotetrameric CENP-T-W-S-X complex, which binds and supercoils DNA, crucial for kinetochore assembly. It functions as an inner kinetochore protein, essential for normal chromosome organization and mitotic progression.
