Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits are cloned and expressed in HEK293 cells, and individual clones are screened for optimal performance.

Target Information

Cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8) is a type I transmembrane glycoprotein of the immunoglobulin receptor family, essential for T cell signal transduction, differentiation, and activation. CD8 is mainly expressed on T cells as a CD8α/CD8β heterodimer acting as a co-receptor for MHC-I molecules, while CD4 serves as the co-receptor for MHC-II.

CD8α is critical for MHC-I binding and is also expressed as a homodimer on subsets of T cells, NK cells, monocytes, and dendritic cells. Interaction of MHC-I/peptide complexes with CD8 triggers Lck recruitment, leading to cytokine production, motility, and cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL) activation. Activated CTLs are key in pathogen and tumor cell clearance. Differentiation of naive CD8+ T cells into CTLs is enhanced by IL-2, IL-12, and TGF-β1.
