F-box 단백질은 SKP1-cullin-F-box(SCFs) 복합체의 서브유닛으로, 인산화 의존적 유비퀴틴화 과정에 관여합니다.
F-box 단백질은 구조적 특성에 따라 Fbws(WD-40 domain 포함), Fbls(leucine-rich repeat 포함), Fbxs(다양한 단백질 상호작용 모듈 또는 뚜렷한 모티프 없음)로 구분됩니다.
FBXO21은 Fbxs 클래스에 속하며, 대체 스플라이싱을 통해 두 가지 전사체 변형을 생성합니다.
