Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human Persephin. Anti-Human Persephin-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.
Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human Persephin by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL is required. This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, together with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human Persephin (500-P138) as a capture antibody, enables detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human Persephin.
Western Blot:
To detect hPersephin by Western Blot, use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL. When used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hPersephin is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.

Target Information
Persephin is a disulfide-linked, homodimeric neurotrophic factor structurally related to GDNF, artemin, and neurturin. These cysteine-knot family growth factors form stable dimeric structures. Persephin signals through a receptor system composed of RET and one of four GFRα (α1–α4) receptors. GFRα4, first identified in chicken, is the preferential binding subunit for persephin. Persephin supports survival of ventral midbrain dopaminergic and motor neurons after sciatic nerve axotomy and promotes ureteric bud branching, but unlike GDNF and neurturin, does not support peripheral neuron survival.
