Target Information

The Myb family of transcription factors, including A-, B-, and c-Myb, regulate differentiation, cellular growth, and gene expression.
c-Myb is essential for hematopoietic cell proliferation and differentiation.
Myb-binding protein 1A (MYBBP1A) is a nuclear protein localized mainly in nucleoli, initially identified as a c-Myb-interacting protein.
MYBBP1A interacts with various transcription factors such as the aromatic hydrocarbon receptor (AhR), enhancing AhR-dependent gene expression.
It acts as a negative regulator of PPAR gamma coactivator 1 alpha (PGC-1α) via p38 MAPK and functions as a nucleocytoplasmic shuttling protein utilizing CRM1-dependent and independent export pathways.
