Target Information
Cytokeratin 18 (Keratin 18, KRT18, type I cytoskeletal 18)은 저분자량 케라틴의 산성(type A) 하위군에 속하며, Cytokeratin 8과 함께 존재합니다. 위장관, 호흡기, 비뇨생식기, 내분비 및 외분비 조직, 그리고 중피 세포에서 양성 반응을 보입니다. 주로 비편평상피(non-squamous epithelia)에 존재하며, 대부분의 선암(adenocarcinoma) 및 관암(ductal carcinoma)에서 발현되지만, 편평세포암(squamous cell carcinoma)에서는 발현되지 않습니다. 간세포암(hepatocellular carcinoma)은 Cytokeratin 8과 18만을 발현합니다. Cytokeratin 18 유전자의 돌연변이는 cryptogenic cirrhosis와 관련이 있으며, 동일한 단백질을 암호화하는 두 가지 전사 변이체가 보고되었습니다. Cytokeratin 아형 발현 패턴은 다양한 상피성 악성종양의 감별 진단에 점점 더 많이 활용되고 있습니다. Cytokeratin 항체는 면역조직화학적 진단뿐 아니라 세포병리학 및 유세포 분석(flow cytometry)에서도 유용한 도구입니다.
