• In ELISA and other immunoreactive assays, this antibody recognizes both native and recombinant rat IL17-A in cell supernatants and certain body fluids.
• A control of similarly diluted normal rabbit IgG is recommended.

Target Information

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A, CTLA-8) is a CD4+ T cell-derived cytokine that promotes inflammatory responses and is elevated in rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, multiple sclerosis, psoriasis, and transplant rejection.
IL-17A is a 32 kDa disulfide-linked homodimer (136 amino acids) belonging to the IL-17A–17F family, signaling through the IL-17 receptor (IL-17R/CDw217).
It enhances ICAM-1 expression, stimulates secretion of IL-6, IL-8, G-CSF, and PGE2, and supports proliferation and maturation of hematopoietic progenitors.
IL-17A regulates NF-kappa B and MAP kinase activities, stimulates IL-6 and COX-2 expression, and enhances nitric oxide production.
