IGF2BP1은 insulin-like growth factor 2 mRNA-binding protein 계열에 속하며, 4개의 K homology domain과 2개의 RNA recognition motif를 포함합니다. 이 단백질은 insulin-like growth factor 2, beta-actin, beta-transducin repeat-containing protein 등의 mRNA와 결합하여 번역 조절 기능을 수행합니다. 두 가지 서로 다른 isoform을 암호화하는 transcript variant가 보고되었습니다.
